Knockraha Community Alert

We have recently formed a Community Alert group in Knockraha. Our aim is to focus on issues of Safety and Security that affect the entire Community on issues such as Crime and Safety in the home. Our focus is on improving the quality of life through promoting Neighbourliness, General Community Safety, Accident Prevention and Personal Safety. We are proposing to implement the Text Alert Service and the Socially Monitored Alarms in the near future. The Text Alert Service is run in association with the Gardai. There will soon be Community Volunteers calling to each house in the locality to set up this service which is completely voluntary.

Watch out for your neighbours and especially the elderly over the Christmas period and especially during the cold weather. Here are a few signs that your neighbours may not be okay. Milk not taken in late in the day. Newspapers or post stuck in the letterbox.
Curtains drawn or lights on during during the day. Home in darkness when there should be someone at home. Dog barking all day or the cat scratching to be let in.
